Anyways, the Fryscape team, headed up by Idan, has an actual website that you need to check out. The other thing he wanted me to say, is that Fryscape is looking for artists, so anyone with a few skillz should check that out. On top of that! They're hosting a contest to see who can write a script worthy of the game; this is a good chance for anyone interested in being a part of the community to get in. Fryscape is gonna be big, over 2000 people have downloaded the demo, and the game honestly rocks. [Winna]

I haven't had much updates on this side. But I have been working on AFF extensively. It's a combined effort to send anchovies to Fox in hopes that they will bring back Futurama. The only way we can do that is by making money so hopefully soon we shall be getting small adds in the bottom left-hand corner of our screen if all goes well, and all we need you to do is just to click on it once a day (at least) and that way we can then hold more comptitions and you can win more prizes as those small adds will bring us in money. The region 1 season 3 Futurama DVDs came out on March 9th, that was tuesday. So if you still haven't gotten them, you might want to ;) I have seen them at several stores as I was walking around town the other day, including Targets, WalMarts, and Best Buys... If you haven't bought a copy yet, or are just broke I may be able to help out! SSF is running a promotional contest thanks to Fox Home Entertainment who has been gracious enough to offer copies which will be handed out to the winners. Long time no post from me... Happy belated birthday to SSF (my bad I kinda forgot and was busy with school). Anyways, I hear that Canada will be getting Futurama on a channel called Teletoon on Saturdays and Sundays at 9pm. It actually started showing in January and they will show all 72 episodes. Remember that the Region 1 Season 3 Futurama DVDs hit shelves on March 9th. On that note, SSF will be hosting a contest for copies of the DVDs thanks to Fox Home Entertainment. The final episode of Futurama (The Devil's Hands Are idle Playthings) aired on FOX on Sunday night, I've seen and it's really something special. I urge all our visitors to see it if they haven't already. There are no more episodes made, and FOX refuse to order more, but Futurama is still not dead. | August 2, 2003 :: "Futurama: The Game Review" |
Ok folks, I got the game on PS2 yesterday and finished the game this morning. Here's my (very casual) review of the game, Out now on Xbox and PS2 in Europe, and out soon on both consoles in the USA.The game is really good fun, the characters are all very different to play, and the controls are responsive. The graphics are EXCELLENT, they have got the look of the show down to an art, just in 3D this time, the only slight niggles I had was that Fry's hair W is a bit badly shaped, and Leela's hair is a bit off-colour. The much heralded FMV cut-scenes in the game are truly funny, they are just as funny and clever as the episodes themselves. For example, the Professor: "In hindsight, selling Planet Express may not have been my best idea...must be my hind caterac...." It gets better, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. The difficulty of the game remains pretty constant throughout the game, although there are a couple of puzzles in the later stages that some younger (or more stupid) players might find tricky. Overall I really enjoyed the game, I just found it too short, and VERY linear, as any game with set levels is. I wish they'd made the game more like Ratchet and Clank, with the three characters travelling to different planets and getting objectives from people that could be completed in different order. But aside from that, the game is well worth any fan's money, and will provide a good fix of Futurama, much needed in these dark dark times. Better yet, the more copies sold the more likely it is that a sequel could be made, which would likely address many of the issues I've raised in this review. I would give Futurama: The Game a score of 7/10 as a game, but that score increases to 9/10 if the player is a Futurama fan, as the little mentions to episodes from the 4 seasons are priceless, and help to create a funny, playable, well rounded game. Well, most people who ordered the Season 3 DVD boxset shold have received it in their mail by now, and it's another high quality set, as we've come to expect from FOX HE.
The four disc boxes are addorned with pictures of the PE crew, and if put side by side they form a picture of a huge Bender, I think from Godfellas. The discs themselves have animated menus, nice to see them return from Season 2, and also an alien copyright notice at the beginning, very funny.
Everyone should go out and buy this set, especially budding fan-artists, as disc 4 includes high quality instructions on sketching Leela and Fry! [Kazzahdrane]

As you should all know (unless you've been living under a moon rock), Season 3 of Futurama will be released in the UK on Monday the 2nd June on DVD and VHS. Happily, that day is a holiday here in Scotland so I will get the day of school. Can you spell F-U-T-U-R-A-M-A M-A-R-A-T-H-O-N? I can, and I'll be trying to have all the DVD watched by the end of the week.
Of course, I'll be posting an extensive review of the DVDs as soon as i get them, mostly covering box art, menu art etc. Then a few days later you can expect a full review covering the quality of the commentaries (you just KNOW they'll be great!) and the extras contained on the disc. It's gonna be wild, as with 22 episodes this will be the largest Season of Futurama ever (assuming it doesn't get renewed), so stay tuned! [Kazzahdrane]

I'm off of my little (interpret this as very long) hiatus (interpret this as I was not on my computer read update below) and so I'll be updating again. As you may have heard (not from this site because it hasn't been updated in over a month) Futurama has been officially cancelled by Fox :GASP!:. What actually happened is Fox did not order new episodes for another season and cut it off the lineup. We did try hard to stop this, but it may not be the worst thing. If it is possible Futurama may be picked up by another station (although very small chance and it could be of less quality, we'd hate that). What may be an even greater possibility is that Futurama could get a movie; now that Fox doesn't completely have its hands on Futurama Mr. Groening could bring the team together to make that trilogy they were talking about. As far as this site is concerned the cancellation is a hard blow, but we will still go on. As long as I have a server I'll keep this site going, even if nobody cares (but you do, cause you're reading this). Speaking of Futurama, a new episode The Sting comes on the first of June, so watch it.... I'm planning on doing a new layout so maybe watch out for that (It's summer so I have time to do things....) YEAH, WALLPAPERS >:D I worked on this ALL day.... Looking through code for hours, deciding to get rid of it entirely, and then just redoing the entire section from almost scratch.... ALL day long. Well first of all I'd like to thank everyone who has been submitting to our submission center, it's of a nice size now! :))) If you want the real art stuff though you oughta try those OTHER Futurama sites, not that I have a problem with them or something.... :zoidy: WHO SAYS I DID!? We've got a new submitter to that section btw, his name is Josh Bilford, so go check that out. Seems a lot like shadowstar's work, but I like that kinda offbeat style. You're probably wondering about the title, well anyways go here and you'll find a game where you're Race Bannon against Race Bannon. The object is to hit the other Race Bannon in the crotch (now some will tell you otherwise, but they're lying, you'll get bonus points!) They have the Region 2 DVD boxset, comprising 4 discs, and all 19 episodes from the Season 2 production run, including three episodes shown as part of Season 3! They of course also have the VHS version for those of you without DVD players. Note that the DVD boxset is being sold at 45% off!! That's 19 episodes AND extras for 22 GBP! According to Cartoon Research, in Jerry Beck's San Diego Comics Convention report, Futurama will be joining the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Hopefully, this will give it the exposure and popularity that the idiots at Fox have made sure it hasnt receieved. [Kazzahdrane]

Sources indicate that the DVD box set of Season 2 is likely to be released on the 11th November, not 30th September, as was previously announced on these hallowed pages. It seems FOX have screwed up with yet another box set. At least we know it isn't special treatment for Futurama, the Simpsons Season 2 DVD was delayed by about 2 months in Europe for no apparant reason.
This new date happens to be Rememberance Day, the anniversary of the end of the 1st World War. Are FOX trying to tell us something? Could this signal the end of the Futurama box sets? Stay tuned... [Kazzahdrane]

Good news for UK Futurama fans, or anyone with a Region 2 DVD player who can speak English! Our friends over at The R2 Project have announced a tentative date for the Futurama Season 2 DVD release. The current date is September 30th, with a price of £40. But remember that some shops such as MVC were offering £10 of the Season 1 DVD to their loyalty card holders, so get scouting for pre-order prices now!

My computer's gone crazy, so I have to buy a new motherboard and processor.
But, actually, I don't know what to do. What's the matter of updating? Some people say that my games suck. Should I believe them? They don't realise that the oldest games on SSF are really old. I wasn't so good with Flash, when I was creating them, co it's obvious that the latest games are better.
No, I'm not quiting SSF. I just want to slow down. There's a lot of other things that I have to do.

Well, I don't have a gun, but I have much more powerful weapon - Flash ;))
So I took a few pictures from the episode Roswell that ends well and put them into the Puzzles.
I have improved the Flash games section. All the games are now ordered by the game-type, you can clearly see their average rating and the last message submitted to message board. It should make choosing a game much easier ;) (I hope).

I created new Puzzle based on the episode Rosweell That Ends Well. All the puzzles are now available in two versions - Standard puzzle, where you can drag all the pieces and more difficult Slide puzzle, where you have to move the pieces one by one.
The last Poll ended with confusing result. The question was 'Who Should Be Fired From The Planet Express ?' and the most votes got Bender ;)) You can check it out in Poll Results.

The episode Leela's Homeworld came on last night. If you saw it I hope you enjoyed it, I'm sure you were enlightened as to the origin of Leela's past. As for me I missed it on account of my family was watching STUPID ATLANTIS DISNEY MOVIE FOR THE 3RD FRIGGIN TIME!!!
Anyways as a Futurama webmaster I urge you to do something about what Fox has done. Sign those petitions, send in those letters, Do anything that helps. If you don't know where to start I suggest that you head down over to CGEF because they're the center for our war against Futurama (or so it would seem by the hard work they're doing over there). They'll tell you exactly what to do and even give you addresses to some of the big wigs over at Fox. I urge you to take up arms, because WE CAN'T LET THIS INJUSTICE GO ON ANY LONGER! [NickAgainstFox]

BTW as far as the cancellation goes on Futurama, and to clear things up I'll say this. It isn't that Futurama was cancelled, it just wasn't renewed for after Season 5 (really season 4 episodes). The problem is some of the people over there are getting laid off. There's hope left for Futurama, but I hope that clears everything up.

Well, there's been a lot of circulating rumours these days about Futurama. I cannot confirm or deny any of this, but I'm leaning toward them being true (even though I wish I could believe the other way). It is said that Futurama will not be renewed after Season 5 (which will really be more like episodes from Season 4). Some people are working to fix this problem and I'm sure a lot of online petitions will pop up, like the Save Futurama one. If you feel like it I suggest going to that petition and signing it, and maybe getting some friends to sign it. I'm afraid though that once the show is cancelled its gone :( On the good side though, we have a long time before Season 5 ends, which could be enough time for Fox to change its mind. Well I hope this hasn't ruined your day, but you should be informed of these events...[Nick]

I've got REALLY good news for czech Futurama fans. During the January, whole site will become bi-lingual. All the pages will be also transformed to PHP instead of simple HTML.
There will also come some new sections, e.g. Interviews, Under construction, etc. and the layout of the site will be also changed.
Aaron Allermann is still adding the question to the Millionaire game, the game now contains about 300 questions !! So don't hesitate and check it out!
